Ten San Diego County-based Hispanic companies are ranked on the Santa Barbara-based Hispanic Business Magazine’s Hispanic Business 500 list.
The list ranks the top Hispanic businesses in the nation according to their annual revenues in 2000. Last year, 12 San Diego County Hispanic businesses made this list.
According to the list this year, the 10 San Diego County-based Hispanic companies combined for a total of $262.31 million in annual revenues during 2000 and had 968 employees. Hispanic Business reported the total revenues of the top 500 Hispanic companies is approximately $21.18 billion, an increase of 134 percent from the previous year.
The following is a listing of local companies, including their number of employees and annual revenues for 2000, featured on the Hispanic Business list:
– San Diego-based OneSource Distributors Inc., an electronic supply wholesaler, was ranked No. 48 this year, a drop from No. 42 the previous year. The company reported $89.39 million in revenues and 200 employees.
– San Diego-based Reef, a footwear manufacturer and wholesaler, was ranked No. 70 this year, a rise from No. 83 the previous year. The company reported $64 million in revenues and 100 employees.
– San Diego-based Red & Blue Inc., an automotive rental services provider, was ranked No. 208 this year, a rise from No. 381 the previous year. The company reported $18.27 million in revenues and 50 employees.
– Poway-based WR Chavez Construction Inc., a construction company, was ranked No. 210 this year, but did not appear on the list last year. The company reported $18.04 million in revenues and 30 employees.
– Oceanside-based Ernie Sandoval Enterprises Inc., a McDonald’s restaurants franchiser, was ranked No. 232 this year, a rise from No. 233 the previous year. The company reported $16.5 million in revenues and 450 employees.
– San Diego-based Casas International, a customs brokerage company, was ranked No. 249 this year, falling from No. 243 the previous year. The company reported $15 million in revenues and 130 employees.
– Spring Valley-based Sapper Construction Co., a freeway and airport concrete paving company, was ranked No. 269 this year, a rise from No. 308 the previous year. The company reported $14.09 million in revenues and 55 employees.
– San Diego-based Computer Masters, a computer reseller, was ranked No. 294 this year, a rise from No. 342 the previous year. The company reported $12.5 million in revenues and 25 employees.
– San Diego-based Televideo San Diego, a communication systems company, was ranked No. 402 this year, a fall from No. 341 last year. The company reported $8 million in revenues and 26 employees.
– Chula Vista-based Retail Systems International Inc., an automated identification and tracking solutions manufacturer, was ranked No. 459 this year, a rise from No. 480 the previous year. The company reported $6.52 million and 60 employees.
