The median price of an existing home sold in San Diego County , including condominiums, town houses and detached housing , continued to slide in March to $490,000 from $495,000 in February.
This marks a decline from December and January, when the median home price reached the critical $500,000 mark.
The San Diego Association of Realtors said the median price of attached and detached homes was up 12.2 percent from the median sale price in March 2004.
The annual growth rate hit the brakes compared with previous months when the rate averaged 18 percent.
The median price for a detached home rose to $565,000 last month from $490,000 in March 2004, with the median price for an attached home rising to $360,000 last month from $329,000 in March 2004.
The San Diego Association of Realtors reported on April 25 that total sales volumes for existing homes during March jumped to $1.95 billion from $1.9 billion in the same month last year.
The number of listings that came off the market in March 2005 slowed for the fourth consecutive month to 3,370. Year to date, sales of existing homes totaled $4.8 billion, a 3 percent increase from March 2004.
Mira Mesa had the highest sales, with agents selling the most single-family attached and detached houses countywide — 136 listed houses at a median price of $370,000.
