Corporate Identity Publication Includes
Local Designer’s Work
With classical station KFSD-FM’s switch to an alternative format a couple of months ago, taking most of the local market’s classical music offerings with the move, conservative talk station KCBQ-AM has launched its own classical music show.
On Sundays at 6 p.m., Marden Abara, who founded the La Jolla Piano Institute, hosts “Classical Music for Dummies.”
Mark Larson, KCBQ’s general manager, expected people to be surprised that a talk station would have a classical music show.
However, “We see it as much more than just music,” Larson explained. “Marden has a deep love for the San Diego community and the ‘arts history’ here. This new half-hour show is a unique concept that will inspire San Diego area people to see the diversity in our area.”
