Maui Flights Taking a Holiday

Hawaiian Holdings Inc., parent company of Hawaiian Airlines, announced Dec. 27 that Hawaiian is temporarily suspending nonstop daily flights between San Diego and Maui, Hawaii, from Jan. 9 through March 15 because of a delay in the availability of additional aircraft to its fleet.

In adding four new Boeing 767s to its fleet, Hawaiian encountered unexpected delays in the completion and certification of interior modifications, according to the company. As a result, recently Hawaiian has had to reschedule some of its trans-Pacific flights.

San Diego-to-Maui passengers affected by this delay are being rebooked onto San Diego-to-Honolulu flights.

Hawaiian plans to resume San Diego-to-Maui nonstop daily service March 16.
