‘Three Strikes’ Law: Why Not Come Up With an Alternative?

Editor:

My company receives the San Diego Business Journal and I am always perusing to see what’s new! I read your July 30 notebook (“Now’s the Time to Ask About the Impact of ‘Three Strikes’ Law”).

I agree that our society has definitely suffered “unintentional consequences.” We are simply warehousing people we don’t like, regardless of their crime.

In no way am I dismissing or diminishing the nature of crimes committed by these individuals. But, why not come up with an alternative than the building of human zoos?

Surely, this law was intended to keep the undesirables out of site and out of mind.

But what happens when it’s time for them to go home? I wonder if Arnold has asked himself this question?
