Kratos Adds $15.5M Worth of Work

San Diego-based Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. said Dec. 3 that it received another $15.5 million in new business from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, or Spawar.

The company will provide engineering and computer services for Spawar Systems Center San Diego and the Joint Interagency Task Force South. The task force, based in Key West, Fla., detects and monitors drug trafficking in the Americas, allowing U.S. forces to intercept it.

The new business boosts the value of Kratos’ contract, originally awarded in 2003, to $45 million.

The company, formerly known as Wireless Facilities Inc., trades on the Nasdaq as KTOS. In midday trading Dec. 3, shares stood at $2.13, down 11 cents from the closing price on the previous trading day.
