Intelligent Automation Corp., an aviation diagnostics and maintenance technology provider, said Sept. 26 that it had been selected by Era Helicopters LLC to provide the IAC 1134 SuperHUMS Health and Usage Monitoring System and Flight Operations Quality Assurance to Era’s Augusta A119 and Eurocopter AS350 helicopters.
The contract, valued at more than $3 million, makes IAC responsible for installing 55 HUMS systems on both helicopter models.
Era hopes that the new technology will save time and money, as well as increase safety for customers.
Era primarily transports personnel to shallow and deep-water oil and gas fields in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. The 60-year-old firm also supports firefighting operations, operates sightseeing tours and leases helicopters to third parties.
