San Diego AeA, a trade association for the high-technology industry, planned to recognize nine companies at its 14th annual High Tech Awards event Oct. 19.
Mayor Jerry Sanders was expected to attend the event at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines and hand out the award for the Clean Technology category to Envision Solar.
The other categories and award winners were:
Software: ESET.
Internet/Web commerce: Veoh Networks Inc.
Computers and related products: Novatel Wireless Inc.
Communication products and services: NextWave Wireless.
Technology/IT services: Verance Corp.
Semiconductors, industrial and analytical instruments: Luxtera Inc.
Medical devices and instrumentation: SynergEyes Inc.
Outstanding emerging growth company: Pulse-Link Inc.
Kevin Carroll, the local AeA executive director, said the group received an overwhelming number of nominations this year, reflecting the influence that high-tech has on the area’s economy.
“It is our mission with this year’s awards to identify and honor those responsible for driving such technological advancement and innovation,” Carroll said.
