Local architects, engineers and designers are fighting hunger with creativity.
At the fifth annual San Diego Canstruction event at the San Diego Design & Landscape Expo, scheduled April 4-6 at the San Diego Convention Center, industry professionals will showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made of canned food.
At the close of the exhibit, the canned goods will be donated to local food banks.
Canstruction is sponsored by the Society for Design Administration, an affiliate of the American Institute of Architects.
Winners last year included: San Diego County-based Architects Delawie Wilkes Rodrigues Barker; Childs Mascari Warner Architects; Island Architects; OliverMcMillan; and RJC Architects.
