In recognition of Veteran Appreciation Month during May, Employment Development Department offices across the state are making extra efforts to find jobs for veterans.
Former military personnel are provided with job training and support services. The EDD also promotes employer interest in hiring veterans.
Fernando Escalante, manager of the San Diego EDD office, said office staff members are calling on local employers, organized labor, veterans’ organizations and government leaders to ensure that veterans receive the services to which they are entitled, and to promote employer interest in hiring veterans.
The San Diego EDD office urges local veterans and employers to visit the office or the Web site (www.edd.ca.gov) to learn more about available services and programs.
