Eight attorneys in the San Diego office of Cooley Godward Kronish were laid off as part of a firmwide restructuring announced Jan. 22, according to a spokeswoman with the law firm.
A day earlier, the firm announced it would eliminate 52 attorneys and 62 staff jobs, citing uncertain economic conditions. But the firm did not reveal the offices affected.
Spokeswoman Ashley Kanigher said the San Diego office, which employs 109 attorneys, lost eight associates as part of the cuts.
Besides San Diego, the Silicon Valley-based law firm has offices in San Francisco, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Seattle, Reston, Va. and Broomfield, Colo.
