San Diego-based Digital Orchid, which specializes in games and other programs for wireless phones, announced Sept. 26 that it has acquired a similar company, Madrid, Spain-based Blue Tech. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Both companies develop and distribute applications for wireless phones.
Javier Gracia Alvarez-Ossorio, president of Blue Tech, will remain based in Spain overseeing all Blue Tech operations as the senior vice president for Digital Orchid Europe.
According to Digital Orchid, the acquisition provides the San Diego company with advanced skills in the Java programming language and advanced gaming application technology as well as an extensive line of popular games for carrier distribution.
