Former Gov. Pete Wilson has joined the Los Angeles financial firm of Pacific Capital Group as a managing director.
The former U.S. senator and mayor of San Diego will be a member of the Pacific Capital Group senior management team and will take an active leadership role in the firm’s private investment activities.
Procopio, Cory
Acquires Law Firm
San Diego-based Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP has acquired the law firm of Dain & Li, LLP.
Founded in 1990, Dain & Li, LLP focuses its practice on intellectual property and international business transactions and litigation.
The firm’s principals, Tony Dain and Kam Li, will become partners at Procopio, Cory.
Maxwell Technologies
Wins $10M Contract
Maxwell Technologies Inc. announced its energy products and industrial computer units have been awarded supply contracts valued at approximately $10 million over the next three years.
Tom Horgan, Maxwell’s chief executive officer, said that the company’s Energy Products subsidiary was selected by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory to supply high-voltage energy storage capacitors for the National Ignition Facility, a high-powered laser facility funded by the Department of Energy.
The contract also includes a purchase option that could produce an additional $5 million in sales.
