Three construction design firms report they’ve finished drawings in recent weeks for local commercial real estate projects.
Jossy+Carrier Design Group of San Diego has finished space planning, construction documents and permit processing for a remodeling project it is administering at the San Diego Christian Worship Center at 9561 and 9581 Ridgehaven Court in Kearny Mesa.
The company has also finished construction documents and administration for the new, 12,000-square-foot law offices of Milberg Weiss Bershad Hynes & Lerach LLP at 100 Pine St. in San Francisco.
Meanwhile, Smith Consulting Architects of San Diego has completed design and construction documents for the new 31,000-square-foot offices of the McGraw-Hill Co. at 5780 Fleet St., Suite 100, Carlsbad.
The office will house the publishing company’s EPG New Media Group and a sales office, said Cheryl “Dennie” Smith, president of Smith Consulting Architects. The EPG New Media Group develops educational Internet Web sites and CD-ROMs. The project included the entire second floor of the building and half of the first floor and will feature an open-office design with perimeter offices encased by floor-to-ceiling glass. The reception area showcases a granite tile entryway with a custom-designed carpet layout and a second-floor conference room equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment.
Structural Technology Consultants Inc. of San Diego has engineering started for a 5,000-square-foot addition to the Rancho San Diego Retail Center. The design project involves a single-story addition to the retail center. Schucard Associates Inc. of San Diego is the architectural firm.
The addition is being designed to match other buildings in the retail center. Price Enterprises of San Diego is the developer.
