Stamford, Conn.-based Poseidon Resources Corp. announced that the Poseidon Desalination demonstration facility in Carlsbad has been awarded the most prestigious award in the water industry.
On Sept. 13, Poseidon received the 2006 Global Grand Prize for Applied Research from the International Water Association.
The demonstration facility in Carlsbad was built in 2003 to aid research leading up to the construction of the proposed 50 million-gallon-per-day facility. The demonstration facility processes 40,000 gallons of seawater per day.
