Wermers Corp. has completed foundation and underground work and is now continuing framing work at Towngate Apartments, a 394-unit apartment project in Moreno Valley. The project will consist of 12 buildings, incorporating one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and clubhouse.

Barnhart, Inc. broke ground on a new learning resource center for Santiago Canyon College. The 40,000-square-foot facility allows for a needed expansion of media materials and shelf space for 100,000 books. The building will also house a faculty technology-training center.

McCarthy Building Cos., Inc. began construction of a 149,000-square-foot parking structure with ground floor commercial space at 30th Street and North Park Way in the North Park area of San Diego to be used by patrons of the North Park Theatre. The structure will accommodate 388 cars on six levels. The scope of work includes shelled construction of 14,510 square feet for future retail space on the first floor of the structure. Construction is scheduled for completion by November.

Johnson & Jennings completed construction for the expansion of offices occupied by the Centre City Development Corp., in the NBC building at 225 Broadway in Downtown San Diego. Project work included the expansion of existing 12,454-square-foot offices to accommodate an additional 3,400 square feet of office space and a new file room. Tenant improvements include office sidelights, and new paint and carpet.

Sully-Jones Roofing Co. completed re-roofing of a commercial office building at 9988 Hibert St. in San Diego. The work included the replacement of approximately 15,300 square feet of old roofing on the building with a new roof using polyester fiber material.
