An event touted as a precursor to bigger and better things, Connect’s 20th annual Most Innovative New Product Awards luncheon will continue the tradition of showcasing local companies that have produced cutting-edge technologies.
Connect recently announced its finalists for the MIP awards. The event, set for Dec. 14 at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, is expected to draw an audience of 850 entrepreneurs, executives, service providers and others.
From early stage biotechnology companies to the first products generated by the region’s telecommunications boom, the awards program has proven to be an indicator of the industries and technologies that have shaped the local economy.
Duane Roth, chief executive officer of Connect, says competition was especially fierce this year in the areas of health care and clean technology.
“This year’s products showcase the entrepreneurial spirit that established the San Diego region as a leader in innovation,” said Roth, whose San Diego-based organization supports entrepreneurs and small businesses involved in the technology and life sciences industries. “These finalists represent the pinnacle of our innovative success.”
