Business Coach Chalks Up Plan for 2010 Marketplace

Lisa Nirell, who started her consulting business in North County seven years ago, returns to the area in October to teach a two-day seminar on business planning and marketing.

The Road to Recovery retreat takes place Oct. 9 and 10 at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.

Now a resident of Oregon, Nirell lived in Solana Beach and Del Mar for 10 years.

She has worked with the San Diego Software Industry Council (she’s a former account manager with Siebel Systems) and penned a column for The Daily Transcript.

John Wiley & Sons published her book, “Energize Growth Now,” in hardback this year.

With her seminar, Nirell aims to help clients “eliminate overwhelm,” confront institutional paralysis, improve marketing, choose where to put their energy and refine other aspects of their planning for 2010.

The weekend event will include guest speakers, including business author and thinker Marshall Goldsmith as well as Reo Carr, the Business Journal’s associate publisher.

Participants in Nirell’s talk can expect to be assigned a three-person panel that will monitor their progress. That panel will expect a report 30 days after the seminar ends.

Information on the event is available at energizegrowth.com/roadtorecovery. Business Journal subscribers receive a 10 percent discount. Those who register online should add the coupon code ROADCLIENT.
