San Diego Tech Coast Angels, a group of wealthy investors that provide capital to technology startups, said May 13 it completed funding of a convertible note for $650,000 for a local tech firm called BrightQube.
The firm created the first open platform for stock photography, and aims to tap into a $2 billion a year market, according to the Tech Coast Angels.
Executives at San Diego-based BrightQube say they now features more than 3 million royalty-free images from 40 agencies, as well as microstock and independent works.
Since 1997, the Tech Coast Angels have invested more than $86 million in about 134 companies.
