Health Care Facilities Adopt SAIC Program
Oacis Healthcare Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of San Diego’s Science Applications International Corp., has implemented its order management system into three major health care facilities.
The facilities include the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, Texas, Children’s Hospital in Houston, and the Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.
Oacis, based in San Rafael, helps health care providers implement fully integrated computer-based patient records by allowing physicians and other clinicians to request services as medical decisions are being made.
The system allows medical orders to be based on each patient’s complete medical history.
Oacis systems are used in hospitals and integrated health care delivery networks throughout the United States, Canada and Australia.
