Layoffs may be picking up but not at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which recently said it plans to hire 11,000 front line, mission and operations support people this year.
To help find qualified people, the agency is holding an open house job fair Jan. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Murrieta border patrol station at 25762 Madison Ave. in Murrieta.
CBP is conducting recruitment days in other cities as well to raise awareness of the agency’s mission, and let the public know of its career options.
In addition to hiring patrol agents, the agency is also seeking management and program analysts, investigative program specialists, administrative support people, contract specialists and information technology specialists.
