As businesses continue to go global, a San Diego consultant has written “The Universal Competitive Edge for the New Millennium” to help companies improve and continue to provide quality products and customer satisfaction.
Joseph J. McHugh wrote the book based on several of his national and international assignments with companies like Sony and JVC.
“Regardless of how efficient a company is, one must continue continuous improvement programs,” he said.
McHugh talks about eight efficiency factors: human resources, materials, equipment, environment, outsourcing, advancing technology, nonvalue-added costs and manufacturing costs.
Businesses, government agencies and educational facilities can implement changes in these areas to cut costs and improve production, he said.
The book was written and designed as a business reference book with illustrations and phrases that can be used in a presentation.
The book can be ordered for $24.95 by calling McHugh at (858) 673-6988, or by writing to Basic Management, 11660 Caminito Corriente, San Diego, CA 92128.
