The United Arab Emirates government has selected Blue Sky Network to provide GPS flight tracking and communications aboard certain government-operated aircraft, Blue Sky Network reported Nov. 12.
La Jolla-based Blue Sky provides mobile asset management and fleet management solutions using GPS tracking over the Iridium satellite network. The new equipment will improve communication capabilities of aircraft in fight and streamline fleet management.
The UAE has deployed Blue Sky’s global satellite tracking and communications kits for voice and text messaging for pilots, flight attendants and passengers. Blue Sky’s SkyRouter web portal will also provide near-real time location reporting for online monitoring of fleets.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Our fleet monitoring and satellite-based voice communications solutions incorporate hardware, tracking software and a reliable network that work together seamlessly,” says Carlton van Putten, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Sky. “This provides a complete communications solution that ensures that UAE government officials are always globally connected.”
Blue Sky Network solutions serve the aviation, oil and gas, forestry, mining, and intermodal transportation markets.
