American Assets Real Estate Group, a San Diego-based real estate investment and asset management firm, recently announced the acquisition of a nine-story office building in the South of Market district of San Francisco. It marks the firm’s first entry into the San Francisco Bay Area.
The 168,000-square-foot Class A office building, which was acquired for an undisclosed amount, is at 160 King St. across from SBC Park, home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team.
American Assets’ portfolio encompasses roughly 3.7 million square feet of retail space, 1.7 million square feet of office space and more than 1,000 residential apartment units throughout California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.
