Asymtek, a Carlsbad manufacturer of dispensing and coatings systems for the semiconductor industry, was recognized for export achievement by the U.S. Department of Commerce on Jan. 18.
The award, delivered by Assistant Secretary David Bohigian at the San Diego World Trade Center, recognizes companies that are business clients of the Commerce Department’s Commercial Service, and that used it to make their first export sale or open new foreign markets.
In the past two years, Asymtek’s business in China grew more than 400 percent. Employment increased from two employees in one office to 13 employees in six offices.
Asymtek was founded in 1983 and acquired by Westlake, Ohio-based Nordson Corp. in 1996.
