Art Museum to Display Local Firm’s Portable Keyboard

Carlsbad-based Think Outside Inc.’s award-winning Stowaway Portable Keyboard has been selected for the Workspheres exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

The exhibition runs through April 22.

The keyboard is known for its transformation from a 100 percent full-size keyboard to a smaller size of a personal digital assistant. Since the Stowaway keyboard was introduced in February 2000, sales have exceeded 1 million units.

The keyboard was chosen for the exhibition because it represents what MoMA describes as “the changing nature of the workplace and the role of design in creating effective solutions to accommodate these changes.”

The inclusion of the Stowaway in the exhibition shows how well it embodies this marriage of design and functionality, said Bob Olodort, co-founder of Think Outside. “It should inspire interesting future solutions.”
