Alevy to Be Voice of the Chamber

Scott Alevy has been named vice president of public policy and communications for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, effective Feb. 1.

He replaces Eugene “Mitch” Mitchell, who left Oct. 21 to become the regional vice president of external affairs for the San Diego Gas & Electric and Southern California Gas companies.

Alevy will manage public policy advocacy, planning and communication strategies involving governmental and community initiatives, as well as media relations.

He was director of external affairs at SBC Communications Inc., following more than two decades working in government relations, public affairs and broadcast media.
