Palomar Plots Grand Opening of Physician Quarters and Conference Center

HOSPITALS: Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Experiential Event Aug. 17

Palomar Health announced Aug. 10 the long-awaited grand opening of the Physician Quarters and Conference Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide a multifunctional space for education, seminars, conferences and a comfortable area for physicians to sleep and relax.

The ribbon-cutting event will take place Aug.17 fom 4-6 p.m. at the new center located at 2185 Citracado Parkway in Escondido. The celebraton of completing the project, 20 yearss in the making, will include a cocktail reception and guided tours of the facility.

The new facility was made possible through support and generosity of the community and various donors who contributed a total of $2.3 million.

As part of the community’s support for the project, County Supervisor Jim Desmond and the San Diego Board of Supervisors granted $100,000 towards the build-out of the community conference space, further highlighting the significance of this venture to the San Diego region. 

“This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our devoted team and the entire community,” said Kristin Gaspar, CEO and President of the Palomar Health Foundation. “The Physician Quarters and Conference Center is a tribute to the extraordinary things we can accomplish when we come together as a united force and it’s a reminder of the growth and sacrifice, we embrace in the healthcare industry.”

The new conference center is designed to serve as a hub of learning and innovation in the medical field for all healthcare systems. The facility features a “Walkway of Heroes,” an engraved brick pathway that pays tribute to the medical staff, loved ones and individuals in the community.

“It is with immense pride and pleasure that I join hands with Palomar Health to realize the dream of a world-class Physician Quarters and Conference Center,” said Dr. Douglas Moir, who played a pivotal role in the project. “This facility will serve as a beacon of knowledge, collaboration and rejuvenation for our dedicated, world-class physicians, enabling Palomar Health to provide even better care for our community.”

The public is encouraged to jcontribute to the center’s cause by honoring and commemorating their own heroes by purchasing custom engraved bricks ranging in price from $250 – $500. All donations will elevate the quality of healthcare in the community.

“The Physician Quarters and Conference Center began as a vision and is now a reality that shows what can be achieved through the power of community and philanthropy,” said Tom Oeschger, a member of the Palomar Health Foundation Board of Directors. “We are immensely proud to have been part of this transformative journey, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact this facility will have on the medical community and the lives of countless individuals in San Diego.”
