Four the fourth year in a row, Palomar Health has made the list of World’s Best Hospitals.
The World’s Best Hospitals 2023 list recognizes the best medical institutions across 28 countries, including the U.S.

The designation was awarded to Palomar based on a complex methodology, developed by Newsweek and Statista, that evaluates four data sources to rank hospitals:
- Hospital recommendations from medical experts taken from an international online survey sent to more than 80,000 doctors, hospital managers & healthcare professionals;
- Patient experience surveys measuring patient satisfaction with hospitals;
- Hospital quality metrics data on quality of care for treatments, hygiene measures, patient safety, and staffing; and
- Assessments gathered from online surveys measuring use and implementation of PROMs – patient-reported outcome measures.
Palomar Health is California’s largest healthcare district, serving an 800-square-mile service area and anchored by two medical center campuses offering services in all fields of medicine.
