Palomar Expands Home Care Service with New Partnership

Palomar Health is again expanding its home care services with another partnership.

The North County hospital announced today (June 28) a partnership with Care Choice Home Care to at expand private home care services and provide comprehensive care options to patients within the comfort of their own homes.

The partnership with Care Choice follows a similar partnership with Archer Health, Inc. announced in mid-May to improve home health care for patients with chronic conditions.

Private home care is a non-medical service designed to support individuals, particularly elderly patients, with their day-to-day activities. Care Choice Home Care’s team of home care aides will offer support to patients with tasks such as activities of daily living (grooming, hygiene, dressing, mobility etc.), homemaking, meal preparation, medication reminders and transportation to various appointments. By partnering with Care Choice Home Care, Palomar Health can offer non-skilled home care services to patients transitioning from its facilities, allowing them to maintain their independence and well-being.

“We are excited to partner with Care Choice Home Care to continue to provide non-skilled home care to our patients discharged from our facilities that require non-skilled care, to allow them to remain in their homes,” said COO of Palomar Health and CEO of Palomar Health Medical Group, Ryan Olsen. “This partnership will allow us to align with experts that collectively have over 90 years of experience providing private non-medical services to our patients.”

Part of that collective experience comes from Care Choice Home Care Founder and CEO Tara Izzo, who previously held a role at Palomar Health for 20 years as Staffing Coordinator and eventually Home Care Manager.

“It is exciting to collaborate with North County’s premier hospital district to serve our community,” Izzo said. “With our expertise in outpatient client care services and Palomar Health’s clinical care, we are confident that our joint efforts will make a positive impact on the senior community.”
