Port of San Diego Names Chief Policy Adviser

Job Nelson, the former chief of staff for San Diego City Councilwoman Lorie Zapf, was recently named chief policy adviser for the Port of San Diego.

Nelson will oversee programs and activities related to public policy and governmental relations, and he will represent the port on legislative, regulatory and intergovernmental issues and initiatives, the port district said.

Nelson, 41, will earn $116,000 annually at the position, which is not a lobbyist position, according to a spokeswoman.

The port has a separate lobbying contract with San Diego-based Carpi & Clay Government Relations for legislative services, she said.
