Connect w/ San Diego Venture Group on May 28 announced the latest batch of startups to make its “Cool Companies” list.
This year, given the current environment and physical constraints, the organization reconsidered its campaign and nominated twice as many companies as a result.
“The breadth and depth of the companies applying is what really excites us,” said Mike Krenn, CEO of Connect. “From a macro economic perspective, with both tech and life sciences thriving, the region is incredibly well positioned for continued success. While Covid certainly presents a set of challenges, we believe there’s an opportunity to evolve our strategies to add additional value to our companies, while further increasing our venture relationships. And the companies were just so darn good - we chose twice as many as last year!”
In total, 60 technology and life sciences companies were named a 2020 Cool Company. Since 2016, Cool Companies have raised over $400M, in just Series A institutional funding and its program regularly attracts over 200 VCs to the region annually.
