Blenders Eyewear, the San Diego-based eyewear company, has been partially acquired by Safilo Group.
According to a press release, Safilo, an international eyewear company, acquired 70% of Blenders’ equity. Chase Fisher, Blenders’ founder and CEO who retained 30% interest in the company, will remain as CEO. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“It’s time to bring the Blenders brand global and Safilo’s expertise, access and influence will help us get there,” said Fisher. “We’ve worked tirelessly to upend this market and bring a new price point to the consumer effectively and efficiently. We hit a chord, and we can now expand to new markets, new customers.”
Founded 2012, Blenders is projected to make $42 million in 2019. The company is valued at $90 million.
