Canter Capital will lead the next round of venture funding for San Diego startup HouseCall with a total investment of $1.5 million, the investment firm announced.
Launched in 2013, San Diego-based HouseCall helps with home maintenance by connecting users with home service professionals in the area to provide anything from small home repairs to movers, Canter said.
This second round of seed funding will provide new resources to HouseCall, which will enable it to expand its software development team, develop an Android version and drive business development into new markets, said Canter Capital, part of San Diego-based Canter Cos.
“This is a great investment partnership for HouseCall as we move to expand our development team here in San Diego,” said Ian Heidt, CEO and co-founder of HouseCall. “Canter is more than an investor for us.”
NextMarket Insights projects the smart homes service industry will grow from its current $2 billion to $10.9 billion by 2017.
