Assay Depot Inc., Carlsbad’s self-dubbed “Amazon.com for scientists,” has landed $3 million in Series B funding.
The round was led by Bootstrap Ventures LLC, an area venture fund that specializes in IT businesses in the life sciences space.
Assay Depot provides research sourcing for scientists, allowing them to connect with suppliers, contract research organizations and others to hasten their work. It has more than 9,000 contract research organizations in its network, and is used by scientists in more than 100 countries, Assay Depot said.
“Assay Depot is fundamentally changing how scientific research is sourced and managed,” Kyle Williams, a partner at Bootstrap Ventures, said in a statement. “By simplifying access to experts and services, the company is dramatically lowering barriers to scientific innovation and ushering in a new, cost-effective approach to research.”
