Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. named Steve Fendley president of its unmanned systems division, announcing the change on Jan. 17.
He succeeds Jerry Beaman, who has retired but will continue to consult with Kratos (Nasdaq: KTOS).
Fendley was previously senior vice president, general manager and chief technology officer for Composite Engineering Inc., the Sacramento-based drone maker that is part of Kratos.
Fendley will also serve as a corporate senior vice president.
Prior to joining Kratos in 2013, Beaman was a U.S. Navy vice admiral. His last Navy assignment was commander of the 3rd Fleet.
