Northrop Grumman Corp. will build electronic jammers to foil roadside bombs under a new contract from the U.S. Marine Corps.
Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) announced that it will initially provide five production systems for $4.1 million. At most, the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity multiple award contract could be worth $90 million over five years. The business will work on the contract in San Diego.
The Marines call the jamming electronics JCREW, and individual Marines carry the electronics in a backpack.
The Marine Corps Systems Command of Quantico, Va., awarded the initial, $4.1 million deal. The U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command manages the program.
