The U.S. Navy awarded Northrop Grumman Corp. a $61.3 million contract modification for services related to the Triton demonstrator aircraft, the Navy announced on June 13.
Triton is the Navy version of the high-flying Global Hawk spy aircraft.
Under the deal, Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will provide logistics support, maintenance and field service representatives over the next year. Most work will be done at Patuxent River, Maryland — home to the Naval Air Systems command — which awarded the deal. Five percent of the work will be done in Rancho Bernardo, which is the main office for the program. A quarter of the work will be done outside the continental United States.
