Navy Awards Poway Company Five-Year, $35.7 Million Contract

A new U.S. Navy contract may be worth up to $35.7 million for a Poway-based company.

The Navy awarded Analysis Modeling and Programming Sciences Inc. a deal to perform engineering stress analysis for F/A-18 aircraft over five years.

The deal is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. The pact covers engineering stress analysis and design modification on repairs to the F/A-18 Hornet, a carrier-launched fighter and attack aircraft.

Stress analysis includes structures engineering stress analysis, structures design, solid modeling and advanced composite design and analysis.

Work will be performed at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest at North Island, where the Navy does heavy repairs on its F/A-18 fleet. The deal will run through October 2021.

The Navy has obligated $2.9 million toward the contract, the Pentagon said in an Oct. 13 announcement.

Analysis Modeling and Programming Sciences is a small business, and one of two businesses that bid on the work.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at China Lake awarded the deal.
