Huntington Ingalls Industries Gets $24.2M Navy Contract

The U.S. Navy awarded Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. a $24.2 million contract modification to cover maintenance, alterations and modifications to the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan.

The work, announced Sept. 4, will be done in Coronado and is expected to be complete in April.

The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center in San Diego awarded the deal.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) builds U.S. aircraft carriers in a shipyard near the company’s headquarters in Newport News, Va. The Reagan is the next-to-last version of the Nimitz class; the yard is now building carriers in the Gerald R. Ford class.
