General Atomics ASI Gets $40.9M Defense Deal

The U.S. Air Force said on Sept. 10 that it awarded General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. a $40.9 million order to develop requirements description documents for two versions of the Reaper unmanned aircraft system.

Work will be done in Poway and will be completed by September 2017.

The documents will be for the Block 1 and Block 5 versions of the MQ-9 Reaper with the 904.6.0 system and software release.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio awarded the order, which applies to an existing contract.
