Since its founding in 1989, AIS has evolved quickly and frequently to keep up with the technological trends of the time. Now, 30 years later, AIS has entered its next chapter – transforming from an established colocation and network services provider into a full stack technology services company focused on providing high demand, customized offerings to support the ever-changing needs of our clients.
Dedication to transformation
AIS has been aggressively changing direction in the market and expanding our comprehensive portfolio of technology services and variety of cloud platforms that builds on our traditional colocation foundation. Over the last two years, we have invested over $10 million in our technology platforms, network, and facilities, and increased the year over year investment in our operations, support, and engineering teams. As such, we are uniquely positioned to provide our next generation of services to the market, including a number of growing sectors such as healthcare, biotech, and financial services.
Just last year, AIS launched our Community Cloud service, a redundant IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) offering that is available in both VMware and Hyper-V flavors. These clouds are located in multiple locations across our ever-growing data center footprint and connected via our MPLS network for high throughput and redundancy. Additionally, we have added new network services, including hybrid network services that aggregates multi-carrier blended Internet services with high bandwidth public cloud connections to AWS, Azure, and more. Today, AIS maintains a consultative approach, ready to help companies place their workloads in the most optimal environment and embrace the utilization of best in breed technology. From on premise to colocation, to Community Cloud and the public Cloud, AIS offers businesses a wide portfolio of solutions.
Joining forces for combined growth and innovation
Most recently, we announced that the AIS Cloud division expanded by merging with Fortitude Technology, an established local San Diego company and provider of enterprise-class, flexible technology solutions. Our 15-year partnership working with Fortitude along with the similarities between our organizations’ cultures made this merger a natural fit, while furthering AIS’ dedication to our transformation. The opportunity to combine organizations and leverage the economies of scale aided in our continued growth, as we increased our already aggressively expanded engineering team and instantly grew the size and scope of our offerings. Fortitude’s client base will now benefit from 24/7/365 Network Operation Center (NOC) support, and portfolio gains including network services (SD-WAN, DR360, Managed Network), security services, and additional Cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, Hyper-V). The AIS client base will also benefit from portfolio gains from the merger, including Oracle Community Cloud hosting platform and VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure) hosting program, as well as expanded practices from our VMware Community Cloud platform and enhancements to our Disaster Recovery and Back-up as a Service offerings with partners Zerto and Veeam. Collectively, we have elevated ourselves to a stronger position in our technology partner ecosystems and have become one of the largest cloud-hosting partners for VMware in the southwest. As our offerings become integrated to serve the newly combined client base, we look forward to growing and working together to enhance product development, continually improve performance, and bring new solutions, features, and functionality to market faster.
The future is bright
It is AIS’ mission to introduce clients and prospects to our new culture, where we strive to help clients understand, adopt, and leverage the technical, operational, and financial attributes of the technology in the IT ecosystem. And we will continue to drive our vision of providing best in breed technology solutions combined with the highest level of subject matter expertise to fulfill our clients’ technology roadmaps.
Finally, in looking ahead, AIS will have some big news to share about our brand in the New Year. I don’t want to give too much away, but can say that it will represent the building of an impressive legacy over the last three decades and I am confident that it will be exciting for our clients and team members alike.
