2008 Technology Executives of the Year Awards - 4/23/2008
On April 23, 2008, The San Diego Business Journal partnered with Cox Business to present awards to 13 of the region's outstanding technology executives in San Diego. Sponsored by KForce, San Diego 1700AM and Wachovia Bank; the cocktail reception and awards event recognized technology executives as nominated by their employees, employers and clients. There were a total of 30 finalists recognized and 12 honorees were recognized from the finalists. Recognition also included a Lifetime Achievement Award given to Marco Thompson of Wind River.

San Diego's Best Places to Work Awards - 2/26/2008
The San Diego Business Journal and Kaiser Permanente, along with Careerbuilder.com, Fashion Valley, Moss Adams LLP and Wachovia Bank present the 9th Annual San Diego's Best Places to Work Awards. Companies are nominated by their own employees and are awarded in the small, medium and large business categories.

2008 Annual Book of List Party - 1/17/2008
On January 17, 2008 the San Diego Business Journal hosted their annual Book of List Party at the Hall of Champions Museum. The reception and networking event was from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and honored those firms that were ranked in the 2008 Book of Lists. The event honored the sponsors and advertisers who contributed to the publication. Over 650 people were in attendance.

2008 Economic Trends Event - 1/8/2008
San Diego Business Journal and a panel of regional experts advised on what's in store for San Diego's economy in 2008. This Economic Trends event focused on the major trends and headlines in 2007 and the industry indicators for 2008. Discussions included the biggest news of last year and insight into what lies ahead for San Diego in employment, technology, health care, real estate, finance, insurance and more. 7th Annual Family Owned Business Awards - 12/13/2007
On December 13, 2007, The San Diego Business Journal partnered with the University of San Diego's Family Business Forum to present awards to six of the region's outstanding family owned businesses. Title Sponsored by Wachovia Bank; the event recognizes family businesses in categories of Small, Medium, Large, Emerging, Longevity and Community Action. There were finalists and honorees in the small, medium and large company categories. The honoree for the small category was Granite Gold; Medium category was Caffe Bella Italia; and Large Category was McMahon Steel Co.,Inc. The Emerging company award went to No Boundaries Inc. The Longevity Award went to J.R. Filanc Construction Co. Inc. and the Community Action Award went to K-Co Construction Inc.

2007 14th Annual Women Who Mean Business Awards - 11/1/2007
This was the14th year for this premier program, which recognized local women business leaders for their excellence in career and community. This year there were a total of 127 nominations. An Independent panel of judges determined the top 25 honorees for the evening. In addition there were several special awards handed out. Including Community Service Award, Community Service Leadership Award, A Courage Award, an Executive Team Award to Alvarado Hospital Women, in addition to a special Exemplary award for General Angela Salinas. Prior to the awards program there was a silent auction where all proceeds benefited Rachel's Women's Center. The highlight of the evening, aside from recognizing hundreds of women, was money that was raised to help fire rescue teams in San Diego. The San Diego Foundation's After the Fire Fund 2007, matched donations raised the evening of the event; and sponsors of the event contributed large donations as well. Pat Brown and Jane Mitchell were the evenings emcees. Ronne Froman and Patti Roscoe were the two keynote speakers. The annual dinner event was held at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in Mission Valley.

1st Annual San Diego's Most Admired CEO Awards - 10/18/2007
The San Diego Business Journal and title sponsor Vistage International Inc., would like to congratulate the nominees, finalists and honorees of San Diego's first annual Most Admired CEO Awards. 12 CEOs were honored with a Most Admired CEO Award on Thursday Oct. 18, 2007 at the the Marriott Hotel and Marina from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Finalists also received awards at the event. Fastest 100 Growing Privately Held Companies - 9/20/2007
Each year the San Diego Business Journal researches and publishes the list of Fast Growing Private Companies in the San Diego area. This year the San Diego Business Journal hosted its fourth annual 100 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies Event, in which all 100 companies found out where they ranked out of 100. The firms who attended the event on September 20, 2007 at The Westgate Hotel, had revenue growth from 2004 to 2006 of 766%. Individually the companies who attended had any where between two full time staffers and six hundred- and together employed more than 8, 466 people in and around San Diego.

1st Annual Health Care Champions - 8/16/2007
The San Diego Business Journal; AMN Health Care, Kaiser Permanente; and the University of California San Diego, Medical Center would like to congratulate the nominees, finalists and honorees of San Diego's fist annual Health Care Champions Awards. 94 finalists and 17 honorees were recognized at the event, which took place on August 16, 2007 at the Hall of Champions Museum in Balboa Park from 4 to 7 p.m. A special guest speaker included Dr. Albert B.Deisseroth, the President and CEO of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. The Business Journal was proud to honor all of the individuals who participated.

Multicultural Heritage Awards 2007 - 3/29/2007
The San Diego Business Journal and title sponsor Stewart Title of California would like to congratulate the nominees and honorees of the 2007 Multicultural Heritage Awards. The event took place on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina 333 West Harbor Drive from 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The San Diego Business Journal is proud to honor and recognize companies throughout the San Diego region that incorporate and embrace multicultural into everyday business. San Diego's Best Places to Work Awards - 2/22/2007
The San Diego Business Journal, Fashion Valley, Kaiser Permanente, KFORCE Professional Staffing, and Vistage International present the 8th Annual San Diego's Best Places to Work Awards. Companies are nominated by their own employees and are awarded in the small, medium and large business categories. This years awards featured 95 nominated firms. 20 companies received an award. There were two small categories. One was for companies with less that 50 employees. The other was for companies with 51 to 150 employees. The medium category was for 150 to 500 employees. The large category was companies who have over 500 employees. The event was the largest Best Places to Work Awards Ceremony yet, with over 500 attendees. Congratulations to all of this years Honorees!
