KPMG LLP has named Cathy Gonzales managing partner of its San Diego office. The Big Four accounting firm made the announcement on Oct. 23.
She will be in charge of the office’s strategic direction and growth, and will oversee nearly 270 professionals and partners in San Diego.
Gonzales succeeds Beth Altman, who stepped down from her managing partner role after 25 years with KPMG.
Cathy Gonzales began her career with KPMG in Los Angeles in 1996. She transferred to the San Diego office in 2000 as a manager to help start its advisory practice. She became a partner in 2000.
Gonzales holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of San Diego, is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs, and is a certified public accountant in California.
