With Office Expansion, Procopio Seeks More Startups for LaunchPad Incubator

A little bit of free space will allow San Diego law firm Procopio to expand its incubator for tech startups.

Procopio created the LaunchPad program in 2012, as a venue for entrepreneurs to launch their tech companies. Since it occupied the fourth floor to its Del Mar Heights office, Procopio is looking for four additional startups to join the program.

LaunchPad provides legal and business expertise to entrepreneurs in the tech sector. In addition to helping entrepreneurs acquire early funding, it also helps them form their corporations, protect their technology and acquire early funding. The startups also receive a dedicated space in Procopio’s Del Mar Heights office.

“Procopio’s commitment to our clients’ needs drives our continued growth,” Managing Partner John D. Alessio said in a news release. “As a firm that works closely with the startup community across San Diego County and California, we’re delighted that our Del Mar Heights office expansion allows us to assist more startups with our LaunchPad incubator.”

The program currently has one return participant; Christopher Williams, founder of Edokonta Inc. He’s taking his second startup through the program after selling his Internet of Things company, Bretelon Inc., to Sigma Designs in 2015.

The LaunchPad incubator program runs for nine months, with the opportunity to seek an extension for up to 12 months.
