Human Longevity Taps Scott Sorensen as CTO

San Diego’s Human Longevity, Inc. has named Scott Sorensen chief technology officer as the company brings its genomics and health program to more locations globally.

Most recently Sorensen was CTO of the family history company Ancestry. During his 16-year career there, he was integral in in transforming the company into a genomics business, states a news release.

He’ll play a key role in expanding Human Longevity’s Health Nucleus program, a genomic-powered, clinical research and discovery center the company touts as delivering the most complete picture of individual health. The company is working on making the platform more digital and consumer friendly.

“At HLI, we are poised to deliver Health Nucleus products and services globally, and we know Scott’s technical and business experience is critical to help us enhance and deliver the insightful power of the genome to our clients,” said Craig Venter, co-founder, chairman and CEO, in a news release.

Prior to Ancestry, Sorensen founded and led a software company, which he later sold.

“The integration of genomics and technology, paired with machine learning as pioneered at HLI and the Health Nucleus, is certain to be the starting point of healthcare in the not too distant future, and I’m excited to be part of the team helping to transform medicine in this way to benefit clients and their families,” Sorensen said.
