TC Technology, a Carlsbad-based software company, has been acquired by SSP Innovations LLC, an IT services and software development company with offices in Colorado and Wisconsin.
SSP, which announced the deal July 2, provides GIS, workforce management, joint use and data maintenance solutions to the utility, telecom, and pipeline industries.
Terms of the deal, which closed June 26, were not disclosed.
TCT was founded in 2000 as Tadpole Cartesia Inc.
The business provides mobile solutions to companies that need GIS-enabled workflow automation.
With the TCT acquisition, SSP acquires the company's mobile information management system (MIMS), which SSP plans to use to extend its application suite for graphic design and inspections, Lifecycle.
According to SSP, the companies have partnered in recent years, a relationship which inspired the acquisition.
Jason Linley, TCT president, becomes SSP's director of mobile product management.
SSP CEO Skye Perry said the rest of the TCT team will also join SSP.
"SSP had an overarching goal to add a mobile offering to our GIS business and our longstanding relationship with TC Technology made them the perfect fit," Perry said. "SSP will embrace the existing MIMS product line while immediately focusing on integrating the technology into our existing work and asset management practice thus providing our customers with an unparalleled solution for both the back office and the mobile utility workforce."
TCT is SSP's third acquisition, following the acquisition of Wind Lake Solutions in January and Paleon Solutions in 2017.
