Adam Garfinkle, Renovate America’s head of capital markets, has been promoted to chief financial officer.

The San Diego-based company, which providers homeowners with financing for energy-efficient improvements they pay off alongside property taxes, said Garfinkle’s new role was effective Jan. 5.

Garfinkle joined the company in 2015.

Renovate America said Garfinkle has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, including 13 years as head of the asset-backed and mortgage-backed structured finance group at the investment banking division of Bank of America, prior to that bank’s 2008 acquisition of Merrill Lynch. He was also a founding executive at RoundPoint Financial Group, a mortgage company.

Craig Braun, who joined Renovate America in 2014 as managing director of capital markets, fills Garkfinkle’s former role.
