San Diego’s Dexcom has gained additional diabetes management technology by acquiring TypeZero Technologies.

Deal terms were not disclosed.

Dexcom is in the business of diabetes management and believes its mission will be aided by TypeZero’s platform to automatically adjust and regulate insulin delivery.

That’s where Dexcom has moved, deploying a “closed loop” insulin system that self-adjusts.

The companies are familiar with each other, having developed diabetes management technology in partnership with the University of Virginia.

Dexcom is coming off a monster second quarter, reporting $242.5 million in revenue, a 42 percent year-over-year increase.
