CDC Small Business Finance has facilitated over $13 billion in financing to more than 11,000 small businesses, which created and preserved 193,000 jobs. Over 20 percent of CDC Small Business Finance’s loans have been made to minority small business entrepreneurs, including women and military veterans.
Under Chilcott’s leadership, CDC Small Business Finance became one of the first Community Advantage lenders certified and has been the number one lender in the nation since. CDC Small Business Finance approved over $47 million in capital to 369 businesses and created/retained over 3,000 jobs.

Executive director of The San Diego Women’s Foundation, Katie Sawyer, was recognized as one of 15 women at the 78th Assembly District’s Women of the Year Celebration. In honor of Women’s History Month, Assembly member Todd Gloria hosted the inaugural celebration recently at the Women’s Museum of California in Liberty Station.
The celebration honored some of the inspirational, courageous and strong women from the 78th Assembly District who help empower the community. Katie Sawyer, along with 14 other women who live, work, volunteer or attend school in the 78th Assembly District, were recognized for their personal accomplishments and dedication to building a stronger San Diego.
